Is Pinterest always the best way to go?

       Since 2010, Pinterest has become a social media craze in the wedding planning world. If you are unsure of what Pinterest is, no worries. Today I am going to give you a little information about Pinterest, and the positives and negatives it has when it comes to planning your wedding!
      Pinterest is a social media site that allows you to explore and find different ideas. These ideas include new recipes, wedding decorations, poses for bridal party pictures, fashion trends and much more. After exploring these new ideas you are able to "pin" the photo with the idea onto your own "pin" board. This enables you to view this photo whenever you want and also makes it possible for your friends and "followers" to see these new ideas that you have posted. When "pinning" these new ideas to your Pinterest, you are able to make multiple boards and label them however you would like. This is definitely a positive when it comes planning your wedding. You are able to label your different boards such as: dresses, flowers, ceremony, decorations, gift table, etc. Creating these different boards with specific labels will keep you very organized during this long wedding planning process. Another positive about Pinterest is the quickness. Since you are able to "pin" ideas you like, you are also able to "share" these ideas with other people. This can be very helpful when wanting to show your parents, maid of honor or wedding coordinator your new idea that you are excited about.
     Since Pinterest has become such a phenomenon over the past 3 years, it is not as great to use for every detail of your wedding. Although Pinterest is an awesome way to start off your wedding coordinating by looking up different color schemes, bouquets, centerpieces, etc.; it may not be the best way to plan everything in your wedding. Because of this phenomenon of brides looking for their ideas on Pinterest, weddings are becoming less and less unique. I believe brides cannot rely so much on  Pinterest, or new ideas and photos need to be posted on Pinterest. Also don't forget when looking for ideas, make sure you look for inspiration outside, in magazines and books. Although Pinterest does have some AMAZING ideas, it does not have all the best ideas out there! The best idea may even come from your own imagination and inspiration!
